Drawing in Space
Make a drawing in space.
The drawing needs to connect
the ceiling and the floor.
Location choices:
·
Our classroom, Studio 1.
·
Somewhere else in the art
building.
·
Outside of the art building,
immediate area or west lawn or palm garden.
·
Other buildings on campus
can also be an option.
·
Important – all locations
need to be approved by me. Some locations will require approval from campus
administration.
Only use linear materials.
Wire, rope, yarn are easy
and immediate solutions. These materials are allowed, but you will also be
required to push beyond the expected. Therefore, consider how you can make your
own tangible line.
For instance, assemble
materials to make a line:
·
Tie materials together such
as fabric and plastic bags.
·
Assemble small materials
such as rubber bands or twist ties.
·
Recycle and tape together
strips of paper or cardboard.
What to post on your blog:
·
At least three (3)
inspiration/research images.
·
At least three (3)
professional images of the final solution.
·
An artist statement.

particular object(s) and the marks you make on the object(s).

research, intellect and meaning.
· The object(s) you select must have height, width and depth.
· You may use found objects or create the objects yourself (paper
mache, cardboard).
· You may take the object(s) out of its original context before
you begin drawing. For instance, paint an object that is known by its color
(paint an apple black).
Presentation of idea:
· Present your ideas to class on Tuesday, Oct. 4.
· Include at least five (5) visual images of
inspiration/reference.
· Up to five (5) points can be deducted from project grade for no
presentation or a poor presentation.

· See me if your idea requires a location outside the classroom.
What to post on your blog:
· At least three (3) inspiration/research images.
